Mother bird and her Chick-Kindness became curse

Its about an incident that took place in real life. A little boy saw a featherless birds chick fell from the nest. It struggle on the floor for survival . Boy was kind hearted. He tool that birds in hand and place it in safe place where ant cannot reach. Mother birds found her chick alive and fetch the insect and feeed her chick . But she cannot carry her child to the next. She remain helpless but never loose her hope and continue feeding chick. The boy try to help chick but he has no ideas how to help.The bird nest is in high branches of very big tall tree. So helplessly he inform me about it. I was also unaware about that birds. What type of bird it was? What they eat? What it feed it?. I tried to search bird rehabilitation centre in my country Nepal but didn't get information about single such centre. I decide to help chick to be safe from rainfall and other predator and let his mother take care about food. Few hour later i was busy in some work. That little boy came to me running and said that the chick passed away. I was surprised how that happened ? He said i do nothing. I was just  giving some water to drink. I saw grief in that little boy innocent  eyes. Such short tragedy of little chick and his mothers tireless hope fade away. And this little incident printed tragic story of mother bird and her chick in my heart.

If you ever found helpless featherless chick of birds you must take care aboout some basic things to help chick.

1. Keep chick in warm place to keep him dry.

2. Never feed water directly by hand. Water may kill the chick when spread all over chick body.

3. First try to contact bird rehabilitation centre to protect chick.

4. All bird chick are not carnivores. Some feed on protein rich diet like pulses ,seed etc and some are insectivorous that feed on insect.

5. Little featherless chick need food in every 2-3 hours gap for 4-5 times a day.

6. Never feed them at night time.

7. Their feeding time should be reduced  as they grows slowly.
